ABOUT US

The Footsteps Group has been providing services for people with learning disabilities since 2004. Our services include two children’s homes, an adult supported living service, and our newly registered 16-18 Supported Accommodation Service.

Our Children Services and 16-18 supported accommodation service are regulated by Ofsted, the regulatory organisation with responsibility of ensuring that we comply with standards and legislation to deliver expected outcomes. We subscribe to these values which underpin our service. Our Adult supported living service is regulated by CQC.

We have 20 years of experience running children services and a very good track record of meeting quality standards. Over the years we have developed staff and our services so that they can be flexibly applied to the needs of children accessing the service. Our services are carried out ensuring that the fundamental principles of the Human Rights Act are upheld. The child's welfare, safety and needs are at the centre of our care. A key strategy that we use is the promotion of person-centred planning and support, enabling the views of children and significant others to influence where possible how they wish to be supported and cared for.

Our services are based in Goodmayes and Leyton, and we provide accommodation for children from age 5 to 17 years of age. We specialise in children and young people with learning/physical disabilities and complex health needs.

We believe that children should have an enjoyable childhood, and benefit from excellent parenting and education, enjoying a wide range of opportunities to develop their talents and skills in order for them to reach their full potential.

We are very passionate about the work that we do and as the cooperate parent; we act with the best interest of the children and young people at all times. We work tirelessly to ensure the children have an enjoyable experience in childhood and we believe that having a learning/physical disability should not stop a child from having a full and enjoyable life.

Our homes provide a welcoming environment where children can grow up in a loving environment where they feel loved, understood and valued. We invest to ensure each child and young person have their wishes and feelings understood. Each child should be valued as an individual and given personalised support in line with their individual needs and background to develop their identity, self-confidence and self-worth. Our person-centered care is tailored to the individual needs of each child, embracing a therapeutic approach consisting of trauma-informed practices to ensure children and young people flourish and thrive in our care and find stability in a family environment which mirrors a typical family home-life as much as possible.
